(Mark Balmores/MANILA BULLETIN) The e-Mobility Proof of Concepts event showcased e-jeepneys and their roles in revolutionizing the country’s transportation system. “This marks the beginning of a sustainable and innovative future for the Philippines. By adopting electric jeepneys, we aim to create a positive environmental impact and enhance the daily lives of Filipinos,” the former governor said in his opening remarks. Ako Ilocano Ako Party-list Rep. Richelle Louise Singson, who joined the elder Singson in the event, highlighted the importance of cross border collaboration as the event was launched together with South Korean leaders in e-mobility businesses. “This initiative is a testament to how cooperation can address urban mobility challenges. Your work sets a benchmark for innovation and sustainability,” she said. Korea Automotive Technology Institute (KATECH) Director Jong Gwan Rah shared his insights about the micro-electric-vehicles (EVs), proof-of-concept processes, and their role in fostering fair and sustainable mobility. “Our goal is to promote fairness and innovation in the future of transportation, ensuring these advancements benefit all sectors of society,” Rah added.
