Charlottetown man suing Ontario driver over impaired driving collision

CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — An Ontario man who admitted to driving drunk when he struck a pedestrian and then crashed into the Water St. Fish and Chips building in downtown Charlottetown is being sued by the victim for damages.According to a statement of claim filed on Oct. 3 in P.E.I.

Judge Nancy Orr also granted Doyle, a Charlottetown resident, $1,490 in restitution. Bennington was also required to pay $32,688.90 in restitution to the building owner's insurance company related to costs to repair the damage caused by the collision.The statement of claim says that Doyle sustained severe physical injuries, including to his left ankle and knee and multiple contusions.
