City council voted 8-2 on April 9 to start the process of making 10 Prince St. a permanent heritage asset.
Donna Miller-Ayton, manager of policy and heritage, said the legal opinion had been discussed at multiple committee levels and a closed council meeting. “Legal counsel for the city has reviewed relevant files, processes, bylaws and case law and is of the opinion the property owner’s counsel’s position on the city’s alleged errors was incorrect,” Todd Saunders told the heritage board.
