His lawyers were also arguing he did not have the mental capacity to know what he was doing was wrong. "The irony, obviously in this case, is that … the only viable option … is effectively asking her to go back to the place at which this is alleged to have occurred," he said. "Even though that boy wrecked a part of me, I know he was let down by the system too," she said.WA Police Commissioner Col Blanch confirmed officers were called on the night of the alleged assault and conducted a full investigation that resulted in charges against the boy.
"And, in fact, it's very traumatic for them to go through those exact same things that they lived through, and that's really half the battle.
