The Albanese government has won praise from Australia’s top business leaders for its first year in office, but they warn stronger economic headwinds are on the way.

But Mr Scott is one of many leaders clearly unimpressed with elements of the government’s new industrial relations regime. “It’s taking us back 30 years in industrial relations and is the antithesis of individual companies needing the flexibility to adapt to their own market circumstances,” he said. Orica CEO Sanjeev Gandhi was one of several CEOs to praise the preparedness of the new government to discuss issues with business.“Access to the new ministry has been excellent, and we’re very pleased with the level of engagement we’re receiving,” he said.
