CEBU Pacific (CEB) announced on Friday the arrival of its last Airbus A321neo for 2024, bringing the total number of new aircraft received this year to 17. This milestone highlights a year of significant growth for the airline, characterized by expanded operational capacity and robust network development. The 236-seater aircraft landed in Manila on December 24th, increasing the budget carrier's commercial fleet to 91 aircraft.

'The arrival of this new aircraft reinforces our readiness to meet the rising travel demand and our commitment to enhancing connectivity for our passengers in 2025 and beyond,' stated CEB President and Chief Commercial Officer Xander Lao. Airbus NEOs are known for their fuel efficiency, burning 15% less fuel per flight and producing less noise compared to previous generations. This translates to a corresponding reduction in aircraft carbon emissions. In October, Cebu Pacific signed a significant purchase agreement with Airbus and Pratt & Whitney of the RTX Group for up to 152 A321neo aircraft powered by Pratt & Whitney GTF engines. Valued at approximately $24 billion (around P1.4 trillion) based on list prices, this acquisition represents the largest in Philippine aviation history. The low-cost carrier aims to increase capacity by 24 to 26% in 2025 and plans to expand its reach as airport infrastructure in the country grows. Cebu Pacific operates one of the youngest fleets in the world, consisting of 10 A330s, 40 A320s, 26 A321s, and 15 ATR turboprop aircraft. Cebu Air Inc., the operator of Cebu Pacific, saw its share price increase by P0.20, or 0.71 percent, to P28.25 on Friday, amidst a 0.16-percent decline for the benchmark Philippine Stock Exchange index
