The new 236-seater aircraft landed in Manila on December 24, 2024, bringing CEB’s commercial fleet total to 91 aircraft.“The arrival of this new aircraft reinforces our readiness to meet the rising demand for travel and highlights our commitment to enhancing connectivity for our passengers in 2025 and beyond,” said Xander Lao, CEB President and Chief Commercial Officer.

The Airbus NEOs represent the latest generation of aircraft, designed to burn 15 percent less fuel per flight and produce less noise compared to earlier models. This reduction in fuel consumption also leads to a corresponding decrease in carbon emissions from the aircraft. On October 2, CEB announced that it had signed a landmark purchase agreement with Airbus and Pratt & Whitney, an RTX business, for up to 152 A321neo aircraft equipped with Pratt & Whitney GTF™ engines.

This acquisition is the largest in Philippine aviation history, valued at approximately USD $24 billion based on list prices.
