A 41-year-old male dispatcher was placed in temporary custody at the Mabolo Police Station after being accused of molesting a 6-year-old girl at 5:20 PM on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, in Sitio Zapatera, Barangay Luz, Cebu City. The suspect, known as 'Boy' and residing in the same barangay, was jobless.
During an investigation conducted by the Mabolo police station aided by Barangay Luz watchmen, 'Boy' was apprehended after the child's mother reported that her daughter was molested by their neighbor. According to the mother, her child approached her, revealing what their neighbor had done and stating, 'Let's keep this a secret.' Watchmen responded immediately and found the suspect at his home, subsequently taking him to the police station. In an interview with DyHP-RMN Cebu, the suspect claimed he had touched the child's private parts unintentionally. He stated that he was celebrating his birthday with three friends on December 24, 2024, and that he had been drinking outside. He described his hand accidentally touching the child's private parts and stated that he had no intention of doing so. He also admitted to using illegal drugs but denied using them at the time of the incident.
