Police have released CCTV in an appeal for information into a shocking assault on a woman on Sydney's lower north shore.
Officers were called to a bus stop on Gladesville Road in Hunters Hill about 5.40 pm on Saturday following reports a woman had been assaulted.She was treated by paramedics before being taken to Royal North Shore Hospital in a stable condition.Police were told the woman had been assaulted by an unknown man who left the scene after a bystander intervened. In an appeal for information police have released CCTV of a man who may be able to assist with their inquiries.

The man is described as being Caucasian, aged between 20 to 30 years old, 178cm tall with short brown hair. Footage shows the man wearing a green jacket, black pants and black shoes at the time of the incident.
Anyone with CCTV or information about the incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
