Police have released vision of two men they believe can help an investigation into the suspicious death of a gamer who was found dead in a fire escape in Sydney’s CBD earlier this month.
Tao Cheng, a 25-year-old Chinese national, was last seen entering a gaming cafe – the FBI Cyber Cafe – in the Meriton shopping precinct on Kent Street about 9pm on December 4.Footage released by police on Thursday shows two men walking down a hallway, speaking to one another and laughing. At the end of the 10-second video, one man motions his hand to grab the camera before pulling it away.
“Our main focus for today is to give clarity as to why [Cheng] was in the stairwell and what happened in the stairwell,” she said on Thursday morning.Devereux said police were still working to establish Cheng’s links to Sydney.At the time of his death, Cheng was wearing a black crew neck T-shirt, black jeans and khaki-coloured work boots.“Anyone with information or who recognise those males on the footage are urged to assist police and come forward,” Devereux said.
