“Every day, we work together with students, parents and staff to create welcoming, caring, respectful and safe school communities where each and every student feels a sense of belonging,” said the CBE. In an emailed message to parents and guardians seen by Postmedia, principal Harald Ludwigsen said the school recognizes the harm that actions like these cause students, staff and families.Article content
“Behaviour like this is unacceptable and will not be tolerated at Senator Patrick Burns or any school within the CBE,” said Ludwigsen. “Senator Patrick Burns school strives to be a welcoming, caring, respectful and safe school that welcomes students, staff and families from all backgrounds.” The school is also working with CBE’s sexual orientation and gender identity team, known as the SOGI Team, to support students and staff. Students and staff who are affected by this incident are encouraged to reach out to the school administration for wellness support.
