Students and staff are preparing to return to St Andrew’s Cathedral School on Monday after the alleged murder of water polo coach Lilie James.

The Sydney CBD private school where a sports coach was brutally murdered will set aside a space for flowers and other tributes when students return to class on Monday, as police continue to investigate the events which led to her death.James was formally identified on Friday as the woman found dead with serious head wounds in a gym bathroom at the school on Wednesday night.

The school was closed for regular lessons on Thursday and Friday, while HSC exams in subjects including studies of religion and chemistry continued in a separate building. Multiple bouquets of flowers had been placed outside the school on Friday..
