The Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) has invited the parishes to pray for the clergymen who are facing sedition charges.

The Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines has invited the parishes to pray for the clergymen who are facing sedition charges.“The processes related to the charges of the crime of sedition have now started to move. They are now asked to submit their counter affidavits. We ask ourselves as brother bishops, what can we do for them?,” said CBCP President and Davao Archbishop Romulo Valles in a statement.

The clergymen who are accused of sedition were Caloocan Bishop and CBCP Vice President Pablo Virgilio David, former CBCP President and Lingayen-Dagupan Archbishop Socrates Villegas, retired Novaliches Archbishop Teodoro Bacani Jr. and Cubao Bishop Honesto Ongtioco. The complaint was in connection with the “Ang Totoong Narcolist” videos that linked President Duterte to the illegal drug trade.

“Let us pray for them, include them in our reflection and homilies, in the prayers of the faithful,” said Valles.
