Former Ottawa city councillor and 2022 mayoral candidate Catherine McKenney has announced they want to represent Ottawa Centre for the Ontario New Democratic Party. They made the announcement Thursday.Posted: Oct 17, 2024 2:17 PM EDT | Last Updated: 3 hours ago

McKenney was first elected as councillor for Somerset Ward in 2014 and served until 2022 when they launched an unsuccessful bid for mayor. McKenney finished second with 119,241 votes behind Mark Sutcliffe who had 161,679 votes. "I am running to be your next Member of Provincial Parliament because I believe we can continue this important work," McKenney wrote on Instagram.
