Filipino boxer Johnriel Casimero reignited his call for a fight against Japanese boxing star Naoya Inoue, seeking help from fellow countryman and legend Manny Pacquiao to make it happen. Casimero was responding to a recent statement by boxing promoter Bob Arum that Inoue has a more legendary career than Pacquiao. Casimero and Inoue were previously scheduled to fight in 2020 but the bout was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Casimero's recent weight issues have hampered his career, including a ban from fighting in Japan for one year.

Help me in ending this narrative.'Casimero and Inoue were supposed to clash in April 2020 but the fight got cancelled at the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic.Talks to revive the fight have never worked out since.The dream fight practically faded when Casimero underwent weight issues that prevented him from defending his WBO bantamweight title against Paul Butler.That led to the WBO stripping the belt of Casimero who was recognized as one of the few boxers who can rival Inoue's punching power and skillset.For the third time, Casimero faced another weigh-in debacle, this time being overweight in his super bantamweight bout against American Saul Sanchez in Japan last October.Since it's a nontitle fight, the bout pushed through and Casimero, a former three-division world champion, knocked out Sanchez in the first round to elevate his record to 34 wins, four losses, and one draw.The Japanese Boxing Commission, however, banned Casimero from fighting in Japan for one year for his weigh-in issue.
