Munehiro Kugimiya, the coach who helped Carlos Yulo win Olympic gold, spent New Year's Eve with the Yulo family in Manila.
Munehiro Kugimiya , the coach who guided Paris Olympics double gold medalist Carlos Yulo during his years of rigorous training in Japan, came to Manila and celebrated the New Year with the Yulo family. Kugimiya was joined by his father and eldest brother and enjoyed meals with the Yulos in Leveriza. Angelica, Carlos's sister, announced the coach's visit on social media, expressing her pleasure and honor to welcome him.
She described Kugimiya as one of the greatest foreign coaches of Philippine gymnastics she has ever known. Kugimiya is currently training the younger Yulos, Eldrew and Elaiza, who are expected to follow in their older brother's footsteps. Under Kugimiya's guidance, Carlos achieved multiple medals in World, Asian, and SEA Games
