Pope Francis will preside at an Ordinary Public Consistory on July 1, when Cardinals present in Rome are set to give the final go-ahead for the canonization of 15 Blesseds.On the night of 9-10 July 1860, eight Franciscan friars and three lay Christians of the Maronite rite were martyred in the Franciscan convent in Syria during a Druze uprising against local Christians.
