The City of St. John’s is looking to improve snow clearing at pedestrian activated street crossings.
The Committee of the Whole yesterday voted to enhance snow clearing resources at 122 pedestrian street crossings. The estimated cost is around $270,000 for eight employees, one supervisor, two leased loaders and two light duty trucks. With the extra resources, pedestrian activated crossings will be cleared within three days of street widening operations. It’s taken crews around seven days in the past.Recent Stories
