The 26-year-old defenceman has yet to play a game this season due to injury, but is expected to join the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League. Fitzgerald, who considers Lingan is hometown, won a Calder Cup with the Wolves last season, posting three goals and 10 points in 53 games.
