SYDNEY, N.S. – Three people are facing charges after the Cape Breton Regional Police seized a combined total of $55,000 worth of illegal drugs recently as part of an ongoing investigation into illegal drug activity in the Cape Breton Regional Municipality.
On Feb. 29, at a residence in Louisbourg, they seized cocaine, thousands of oxycodone pills, cash and firearms. On March 19 in Glace Bay, they seized hundreds of oxycodone, methylphenidate and Buprenorphine pills and a large amount of cash. Joseph Martin Brown, 77, of Florence is scheduled to appear in court on April 24, charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking buprenorphine, possession of unstamped tobacco and unsafe storage of a firearm.
