Cape Breton opened the regular season last weekend against the Flames at the Membertou Sport and Wellness Centre. The team will be on the road this weekend for a pair of games against the Edza East Moncton Subaru Rockets.Among the returnees are Jeneva Marshall, Kennedy Vickers, Anna Lawand, Clare Connors, Alexis Chisholm-Beaton, Brooklyn MacNeil, Olivia MacDonald, and Meghan Muise.
Forward Skylar MacLean, who was fourth in team scoring last season, elected not to return to the team this season and will play at Stanstead College prep school in Quebec. “This is Meghan’s last year and it’s a big year for her if she’s looking to move on and keep playing,” said Lynk. “I think we’re going to spend a little more time in our zone,” said Lynk. “It might be a little more difficult for us to score five-on-five, but we’re shaping up to be a little more of a defensive team this year.”
