2018 first-round draft pick Quinn Hughes is getting an X-ray on his foot after blocking a shot late in the third period of a Friday night game between Michigan and Minnesota.
According to Sportsnet 650’s Rick Dhaliwal, a Wolverines team official says his status for Saturday’s season finale, also against the Golden Gophers, is questionable. Michigan Team official – Quinn is getting x-ray on his foot. Status is questionable for tomorrow’s game. Hughes blocked a shot late in game.Approaching the end of his college season, Hughes was expected to soon get called up by the Canucks. Taken seventh overall in last June’s draft, he expressed a desire to play at least one more season at Michigan before officially turning pro.
It’s unclear at the moment if Friday night’s incident will affect Hughes’ ability to join Vancouver at this time — Dhaliwal later tweeted he’d heard that Hughes suffered only a bruised foot. Been told Quinn Hughes will be okay, it’s a bruised foot. No word on if he plays tomorrow but doesn’t sound long term right now.
