Every player who makes his NHL debut reports having pre-game jitters. Schenn pointed out the all-star cast he lined up against in his 2008 NHL debut for the Toronto Maple Leafs against the Detroit Red Wings: “Osgood, Rafalski, Lidstrom, Holmstrom, Datsyuk and Zetterberg. I had a ‘what am I doing here?’ moment and I tried to hurry off as quick as I could.”
Hughes has grown up around the game, but admitted he probably will have to pause a moment when it all begins tonight.The Canucks have lost three straight after winning three straight. They’re not playoff bound, but they do want to go out on a high note this season. The Kings are a great target as they’re playing out the string and nobody in the lineup seems happy how their season has gone.
