The Canadian embassy in the Philippines expressed their support for the creation of safe space desks in campuses all over the country.

In a Facebook post Saturday on their official page, the Canadian embassy said, “Canada is playing its part in building an environment where the youth, including members of the LGBTQ2+ community, are safe from violence, harassment, and discrimination.”

“In the Philippines, we proudly support Active Citizenship Foundation’s Safe Campuses Project that promotes safe spaces by establishing safe space desks for women and LGBTQ2+ students in five universities across the Philippines,” the post read. Aside from the creation of the said safe space desks, the Canadian Embassy also expressed their support for the global commemoration of the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, and Transphobia on Sunday.
