Tyler Peddle was the No. 2 overall pick in the 2021 QMJHL draft after dominating the Nova Scotia Under-15 Hockey League in 2019-20 and then moving to Minnesota to spend one season in the highly-regarded Shattuck-St. Mary's program. Likewise, Brady left Antigonish after a strong U15 season in 2021-22 to chase his hockey dream with the equally prestigious Bishop Kearney Selects in Rochester, N.Y. this year.
QMJHL Central Scouting considers Brady a top prospect for this year's Quebec league draft, including him on its list of 32 A-level players released in December."Brady is a left-handed defenceman with a smooth skating stride who is mobile and agile on his feet," QMJHL director of Central Scouting Pierre Cholette said in a recent evaluation."He also has good size.
Prior to joining the OHL's Knights, Landon Sim was a top player for the Pictou County Weeks in 2019-20 and then spent one season with the Pictou County Crushers of the Maritime Hockey League. Lane is third in scoring for this year's Weeks team with 45 points in 33 games.Like his dad, Lane is described as a relentless worker who also has skill. It's also what scouts said about Landon leading up to last year's NHL draft so both sons are chips off the old block.
The Nova Scotia boys' team opens the Games in Charlottetown on Sunday against Alberta and the girls kick things on Feb. 27 against Alberta.
