Operations at the Camp John Hay golf course have returned to normal after a two-day lockdown. The Bases Conversion and Development Authority ( BCDA ) took over the facility from Camp John Hay Development Corp. The BCDA welcomed the decision of the golf club members to withdraw their complaint against the government-owned corporation and cooperate for a seamless transition.
A group of golf club members filed a motion to withdraw their case before the Baguio Regional Trial Court, signaling their willingness to build a partnership with the new management. 'The withdrawal of the case is a positive step towards the smooth transition of the Camp John Hay Golf Course,' said BCDA president and CEO Joshua Bingcang. 'We want to assure the public that new and former players will continue to enjoy premium golf course services and that the workforce will be taken care of by our new interim partners, Golfplus and DuckWorldPH,' . A new consortium formed by Golfplus Management Inc. and DuckWorldPH has been tapped to assist the BCDA in managing the golf estate facilities for the interim period. The BCDA has regained control of Camp John Hay, including the golf course, in line with the October 2024 Supreme Court resolution which allowed the state-run firm to recover the 247-hectare property. In accordance with the Supreme Court ruling, the implementation of the writ of execution and notice to vacate was carried on by the court sheriff on January 6
