That leads into how decriminalization affects our youth. Now the message to non-discerning youth, who are not so likely to parse differences between weed, alcohol and hard drugs, is a green light to substance use.
Instead, in a way, decriminalization is a form of denial that gets in the way of the real changes needed while we calibrate the “success” of our “boldness” — such calibration taking years to undertake.
