Caloocan gov’t urges barangays to set up firework zones

Caloocan Mayor Along Malapitan on Friday called on barangays to set up firework display zones to ensure safety in welcoming the new year. Under Executive Order No. 040-24, Malapitan said barangays must inform the local government of the details of the firework zone, such as the address, date, and time of the fireworks display, and the safety and security protocols that will be implemented.

“Gumamit po tayo ng mga ligtas na alternatibong pamamaraan gaya ng torotot, kaldero, speaker, light emitting devices, at iba pa upang mag-ingay at magpa-ilaw sa bagong taon,” he said in a statement.According to Malapitan, the local government also tasked the Caloocan City Police Station, Bureau of Fire Protection-Caloocan, and the City Health Department to implement the ordinance.
