The Queensland government is under pressure to release the costs associated with the Gabba redevelopment.

The Auditor General told a parliamentary committee the original estimation of $1 billion came “from a press release” and believes “there was never a business case” to support the original valuation.

The cost has increased since the original estimation, now at $2.7 billion in a joint state and federal government announcement.
