The 2023 Global Petroleum Congress is set to take over downtown Calgary from Sept. 17 to 21.
The rest of the conference will be concentrated at the BMO Centre, the Big Four Building, and the Nutrien Centre at the Stampede Grounds.
Canada’s energy sector will also be represented, with prominent speakers including ExxonMobile CEO Darren Woods, and Repsol CEO Josu Jon Imaz. Calgary narrowly won the bid for this year’s congress in 2019, beating out Baku, Azerbaijan by a single vote.
Painchaud said WPC Canada is spending $20 million to put on the congress, adding at least one key sponsor is spending $3 million.
