Calgary\u0027s cool Skate4kids event on tap to raise funds for sick kids at Alberta Children\u0027s Hospital

Entry into the Olympic Oval to participate in the 2023 Skate4Kids event will be by donation only. Staff from the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation staff will be on site to collect donations. No minimum donation will be required in an effort for the skate to be accessible to all.

“I’ve had my own battles with mental health throughout my career to date and believe that it’s a very relatable foundation to stand behind as a Team Canada athlete driven initiative,” said Mayeur, who adds that QR codes will be displayed throughout the Olympic Oval during the event for guests to make additional financial contributions towards the overall fundraising goal.

Mayeur spearheaded the initiative after returning to Calgary following his most successful season ever representing Canada in long-track speed skating. He won his first two career world cup medals and a silver at the world championships.
