Transgender Canadian bookbinder Laur Flom, 23, has gone viral on TikTok by sharing videos of him rebinding Harry Potter books with the title and copyright pages removed.As Flom succinctly put it in one of the clips earlier this month, “I rebind Harry Potter books without JK Rowling’s name on them because f*** her.”

“Harry Potter is such a huge cultural touchstone for so many of us that the act of simply not engaging doesn’t feel impactful,” Flom says. The irony of claiming that reading already-bought books without the author’s name on them does not equate to supporting JK Rowling is laughable.
