The English School District is immediately suspending bus service involving 20 schools in the St. John’s metro region.
In a news release late Saturday morning, officials say the decision was made out of concern for the safety of students. They say the move to suspend the contract with Gladney’s Bus Service was not taken lightly, adding they are aware of the significant impact on families. But the district says following a review of information available, “they could no longer permit the continuation of busing services without confidence it is being provided in a safe manner for students.”
