KORONADAL CITY – A businesswoman was killed while her husband was critically injured in an early morning ambush along a road in Barangay Fatima, General Santos City on Tuesday. Col. Jomar Alexis Yap, General Santos City police director, identified the victim as Amelia Tajala, 52, a resident Purok 5, Block 7, Barangay Fatima.
She was declared dead on arrival at the GenSan Medical Center while her husband, Belgar, 51, who was driving the Mitsubishi Montero vehicle , was critically injured. The victims were heading to the fishport where they managed a fish and moneylending business when waylaid by two gunmen on board a motorbike at 4:45 a.m.
