A tropical low over the Timor Sea is moving south towards the Joseph Bonaparte Gulf, near the border between the NT and WA, according to the BOM. The low could develop into a tropical cyclone during Friday morning, before making landfall on Friday afternoon or evening.Kalumburu itself is not in the warning zone.The BOM is warning that residents of Wadeye, a remote community, and surrounding areas should "take action to complete preparations".Gales with gusts of up to 90 kilometres an hour could develop in the warning zone overnight.
Heavy rainfall is also expected to develop from tonight over the Daly district in the NT, as well as in WA's east Kimberley and Gregory districts.
