PETALING JAYA: The government has agreed to increase the minimum wage rate from RM1,500 currently to RM1,700, with effect from Feb 1, 2025, says Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim .
Anwar, who is also Finance Minister, said that the Human Resources Ministry will also publish a set of guidelines for the starting salaries of industrial and production technicians , mechanical engineers and professional creative content designers . Meanwile, Anwar said RM250mil would be allocated to the People's Income Initiative to eradicate extreme poverty.
