Meanwhile, the Saddledome’s roof and acoustics have been a technical issue for decades, and the bigger acts that do land in Calgary often dial back their shows to fit the building.
The Chicks are set to play the Saddledome on Sept. 7 as part of their 37-show world tour, and a spokesman said in an email tickets will start at $40 each. The last time The Chicks played the Dome they had yet to drop the word Dixie from their name. It was 2016 as part of their DCX MMXVI World Tour. The Chicks were one of the biggest acts in country music as well as one of its most controversial in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
