Lawyers for former Liberal staffer Bruce Lehrmann object to Network Ten's bid to use a psychologist report into the behaviour of sexual assault victims in response to his defamation case.
The Federal Court has heard lawyers for former Liberal staffer Bruce Lehrmann will object to expert evidence brought by Network Ten in response to his defamation case.Network Ten is hoping to present a report by psychologist Christopher Lennings, as part of its defence seeking to establish that its reporting was true
Mr Lehrmann has always maintained his innocence and there have been no findings against him after a criminal trial in the ACT was abandoned During a case management hearing today, the Federal Court heard Network Ten would present a report by psychologist Christopher Lennings as part of its defence seeking to establish that its reporting was true.
He said among other elements, it explored how an experience of sexual assault affected a person's memory."There certainly will be objection to that evidence, starting from the basis of whether or not there is a recognised field of expertise," Mr Lehrmann's lawyer, Matthew Richardson SC, said.
