Brisbane to get a taste of the East with BrisAsia showcase

Food trucks and more than 400 artists and creatives are set to showcase contemporary and traditional Asian arts, food and culture during the annual BrisAsia Festival.

The event, celebrating the Lunar New Year, will feature 27 experiences across 12 suburbs from February 1 to 19.Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner said the festival played a pivotal role as Brisbane’s hub for cultural connection, creative innovation and performance.returning,” he said. “Residents can look forward to a jam-packed three weeks of festivities across the city.”

A BrisAsia launch party at Fortitude Music Hall will feature traditional and contemporary performances, lion dances, martial arts displays, Sydney-based K-pop DJ Nick Kim, and local drag sensation Crimson Coco.at the Mt Coot-tha Observatory, and the inaugural Team Bliss Community Cup esports competition, while visitors to theexhibition can reminisce about 2000-2010 Asian popular culture within an Australian context.
