As a retailer myself, this time of the year is exciting — our shelves usually get packed with products and we start overstaffing our sales floor. However, supply chain issues, increasing product costs, labour shortages, and slower consumer spending, are enough to shake the optimism. This is a good reminder for corporate gift purchases. Think of local small businesses. While it’s easier and more convenient to make an LCBO run and purchase bottles of wine for gifting or Starbucks gift certificates, I challenge you to look at other options that will help a local business weather the storm.Article content
