ALOR SETAR: A public university in Kedah has come under fire on social media for a condition imposed on students' vehicle campus stickers.

The condition stipulates that students will be fined RM30 if they carry a passenger of the opposite sex who is not their spouse.Students have to fill in a declaration with 11 conditions, and number six says that:"I understand and agree that the university reserves the right to penalise the amount of RM30 and the vehicle registration can be cancelled if it is used to carry ."Some users asked what the university would do if the occupants were siblings.

Another noted that universities are meant to produce critical thinkers but in this case, they are not even allowed to share a car. Others speculated that the recent controversy over a couple caught in an indecent act inside a car may have led to this ruling, but a check found that it has been on the university's vehicle registration application form since 2021.
