BREAKING: ‘Maymay’ to make landfall over Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union
Tropical Storm Maymay is expected to make landfall over Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, and La Union tonight or early tomorrow morning. It will then traverse the landmass of northern and central Luzon until tomorrow, according to PAGASA.
Signal number two remains hoisted over these areas. After making landfall, Maymay will weaken into a tropical depression by tomorrow morning. It may be downgraded further into a low-pressure area by tomorrow afternoon or evening.

Maymay was spotted at 170 km west-northwest of Bacnotan, La Union, with maximum sustained winds of 65 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph, and slowly moving southeastward. Signal No. 2 was raised over six areas, including: Areas under Signal No. 1 include: Maymay was forecast to move generally eastward and may make landfall over Ilocos Sur or La Union by Wednesday afternoon or evening. Afterwards, it will cross the landmass of Northern and Central Luzon until Thursday. PAGASA warned of possible flash floods or landslides in areas experiencing moderate to heavy and sometimes intense rains. The rest of the country would have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the Southwest Monsoon.
