Angus Brayshaw is “not going great” after his heavy collision with Collingwood’s Brayden Maynard, but teammate Christian Petracca says Melbourne remain hopeful he will yet be fit to return this finals campaign.
Brayshaw has been ruled out of the semi-final with Carlton due to the concussion he suffered in the collision with Maynard. A source with knowledge of the incident, who was unable to comment publicly, said Brayshaw was unconscious for more than a minute on the MCG after the knock.Maynard was referred directly to the tribunal over the collision, which occurred when Maynard flew to try to smother Brayshaw’s kick, then landed on him and knocked him out.
“[A return to play this year] will be based on what ‘Gus’ is feeling and his symptoms,” Petracca said. “When I speak to him, and you look at people with concussion it’s more than just footy. Whatever he wants to do, it’s up to him.”

‘Aussies are not going to be fooled’: Voice support in freefall following latest pollLiberal Senator Alex Antic says Australians are not going to be fooled by the Voice to Parliament referendum which is set to take place on October 14th. More than half of Australians will likely vote No to a Voice to Parliament if it were held today, according to a new poll conducted by Newspoll for The Australian newspaper. “I had the view 18 months ago Aussies would work this out even if the government … weren’t going to tell the Aussies the detail as they haven’t,” Mr Antic told Sky News host James Morrow. “I always had confidence that Australians would work this out, that they would be cautious with their constitution. “I think Aussies are going to deliver a Brexit moment to the corporate elites and to the smug political operators who think they can just tell Aussies what to do.”
