Two children were rushed to hospital after a Christmas carols event in Sydney’s north took a terrifying turn on the weekend. 7NEWS

Carollers filming the event captured the moment rogue fireworks blasted into crowds at Allambie Heights Oval, just after 9.30pm on Sunday.Watch the latest news and stream for free onHe was taken to Royal North Shore Hospital with burns and a chest injury but was later transferred to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead.

An eight-year-old girl was also taken to Northern Beaches Hospital with a wrist injury after she was caught up in a crowd crush as terrified revellers tried to flee the oval. Police say emergency services were called to the scene, and were told a firework had shot into a crowd of people during an event.A number of other patrons were also treated at the scene.
