9News understands the boy was walking on the footpath when the bus appeared to leave the road while navigating a roundabout and struck him.READ MORE:Paramedics treated the boy at the scene before he was taken in a critical condition to Liverpool Hospital, where he later died.
The school entry was closed after the boy was hit, with drivers told to wait while picking up their children after school.Macarthur Anglican School principal David Nockles sent out a letter to parents and caregivers about the accident, which he said "occurred in the bus zone" at the front of the school.
