Holiday delays have been exacerbated by three crashes in the south-east, but Boxing Day is likely to see the biggest snarls.

Holiday traffic is already ramping up in south-east Queensland, with Boxing Day shaping up as the busiest of all as festive shoppers chase post-Christmas bargains.

“I noticed yesterday afternoon, there was a consistent flow of traffic as people were heading out about 5pm towards the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast.LoadingKwitowski said traffic would again build up about 11am on Saturday, with 11am to noon on Christmas Day likely to see a peak.
