‘Here’ this week is the 2023 Boston Pizza Cup at Enoch’s River Cree Resort & Casino. The five-day event begins Wednesday and runs through Sunday in an effort to crown the Alberta men’s team curling king. “The key is not to focus on what you could win or what the expectations are,” Bottcher said. “You’ve just got to try and go out there and play the way you can and get the most out of your guys. And if you put together eight or 10 ends of really good curling, that usually does the trick.

But it’s those all connections that the new Bottcher crew — now complete with longtime Brad Gushue henchman Gallant — is trying to leave behind in a bid to forge a famed future of its own. Beginning with the provincial playdown, as they open in Draw 2 on Wednesday night against the winner of a Draw 1 match between another Glencoe entry in Kyler Kleibrink and Edmonton’s Johnson Tao, of the Saville Community Sports Centre.Article content

“But one thing we’ve done really well is focus on our own game. We know if we put the time in and focus on each other, we play well and we’re pretty tough to beat.”Article content
