Stakeholders in Boracay, Philippines, agreed to collaborate to elevate the island as the world's leading luxury destination following its recognition as Asia’s Leading Luxury Destination of 2024. The commitment was made during the 6th Council Meeting of the Boracay Caticlan Sustainable Development Council.
Malay, Aklan—Stakeholders in Boracay agreed to help one another in making the resort island become the world’s leading luxury destination, after earning the top plum in Asia from the World Travel Awards.
Aklan Governor Jose Enrique Miraflores said among the topics they discussed were the integration of all products and services in Boracay and the implementation of a unified ticketing system. The governor said he hopes that the integration of services and the unified ticketing system will be implemented next year in time for another international tourism event in Taiwan and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
