“I wanted to see every interior space on a large scale, the interiors we live with every day from this area, with our materials, our environment, our lifestyles, and that just hasn’t existed before. Studio Roslyn used rich, saturated colours and patterns inspired by the client’s love for maximalist fashion.“We were talking about sustainable design a lot throughout this book,” she says. “That means sustainable design is designing interiors that are going to last, not that the next homeowner is going to rip up in five years or that you’re ripping up because you’re sick of it or it was too trendy.
“It’s the timeless looks that are going to last you and support living over time,” she explains. “It doesn’t necessarily have to mean—this is the other part—that it has to be neutral. Not everything has to be grey. Not everything has to be white oak for that to be lasting design.”
