Brisbane’s old cruise ship terminal at Portside Hamilton closes its doors after 16 years and 1250 cruise ships as it eyes better use of the river in a $20 million refresh.
For 16 years, Portside Wharf has operated at Hamilton as Brisbane’s cruise terminal, welcoming and waving goodbye to holidaymakers aboard 1250 large ships.
The location is now very quiet. It is almost a case of more builders walking around than residents or customers.Catering company manager Paul Garnett has lived at Hamilton Northshore “on and off” for seven years. A cruise ship brings thousands of people to Portside Hamilton, but partially blocks the riverside views.
A new walkway with riverside restaurants and bars and a new entranceway to Portside Hamilton are planned - in addition to new unit complexes - as part of a $20 million remake of the old cruise ship terminal.
